Vee24 attracts US investment

MANCHESTER technology firm Vee24 is moving its headquarters to Boston after attracting £3.5m from US investors.

Data Point Capital and Point Judith Capital, both based in Boston, have invested in the company which has developed a technology which allows businesses to connect with customers by using high speed video to deliver real-time help and assistance on their websites.

It said the cash would allow it to expand into lucrative US and Asian markets. It plans to retain an office in Manchester as well as one in Brussels.

Andy Henshaw, Vee24’s chief innovation officer said: “The Vee24 platform allows companies to deliver an outstanding online experience that is consistent with the great service that in-store shoppers have come to expect.

“Our video chat and co-browsing technology allows businesses to provide a much greater level of personalisation within their websites which is being rewarded with much higher sales and outstanding customer satisfaction ratings.”

Paul Raftery, head of the corporate at Weightmans lead the team that advised Vee24. He said: “We are thrilled to have helped secure such great financing partners for Vee24. Our aim was to help them to secure investment to broaden their reach and assist them in breaking into the key US and Asian markets.”

Vee24 was founded by Andy Henshaw and Nigel Thomas. Following the investment Boston-based James Keller has been appointed chief executive.
