Vita chooses Exeter for sixth scheme

WILMSLOW-based upmarket student accommodation specialist Vita Student has unveiled its sixth scheme, a £17m development in Exeter.

Vita is already converting three buildings in Liverpool into 350 rooms and has started on site at Manchester’s First Street. It also has a development in Bristol.

The latest venture in Exeter, which takes its total number of apartments to 929, will have 161 studios and two-bedroom apartments which are being sold off-plan.

The business was set up by Mark Stott, founder of the Dubai-focused property investment business Select Property based in Wilmslow, and Chris Oakes of Alderley Edge-based upmarket developer Huntsmere.

Chief executive of Vita Ventures, Trevor Moore, said: “The Vita Student brand is experiencing incredible success and this looks set to continue as we invest in our people, products and services.

“The rate at which all our previous projects have sold demonstrates that our model is successfully addressing the market demand and we’re continuing to meet this by expanding in key university cities across the UK. With its burgeoning student population and undersupply of student beds, Exeter was an obvious choice for our next target.”
