Regatta submits plans for new HQ

OUTDOOR clothing and footwear group Regatta has submitted a planning application for a new international headquarters office at Mercury Way, Trafford Park.

The project will bring together 250 staff and three international outdoor brands, Regatta, Craghoppers and Dare2b, as well as the UK Hawkshead retail business.

The company is converting an existing warehouse and consolidating a number of other sites at Trafford Park.

The 60,000 sq ft facility should be finished by November next year. The company would not say how much it is investing in the building.

It has been designed by architect Fletcher-Rae and Space Invader Interior designers, who were appointed following a design competition. HOW Planning has been appointed as planning consultants for the project.

Keith Black, managing director of Regatta, said: “With the new headquarters, we aim to create a world-class facility, enabling the very best talent to maximise their capabilities.

“We are creating a unique environment of design studios, meeting spaces and offices in a highly individual design, as we continue to grow our brands across the UK, Europe and worldwide.”

Regatta’s parent company Risol Imports filed pre-tax profits of £7.7m, up 43%, in the year to January. Turnover was up 1.4% to £121.6m. The company is owned by Mr Black and his sister Joanne.
