Atom collides with Fusion21

LIVERPOOL-based social enterprise Fusion21 has acquired a training company called Atom Regeneration, also based in the city.

Fusion21, which was set up by seven housing associations as a procurement vehicle, said the deal would help broaden its skills base.

Atom, led by James Flannery, provides specialist employment and skills advice services for public sector organisations and contractors working on major construction projects.

Fusion21’s chief executive Dave Neilson said: “We are delighted to complete this acquisition and welcome James to the group. His knowledge, skills and contacts will greatly assist us to accelerate the growth of our advisory services and create further opportunities for local people. As the economy begins to recover and construction opportunities increase, Fusion21 is ideally placed for substantial future growth.”

Mr Flannery said: “Atom Regeneration has been built on our passion for maximising opportunities for local people. The vision and strategic developments plans Dave Neilson set out for this acquisition enabled us both to realise the strength of bringing my business into the Fusion21 family. This will enable us to carry on delivering first class employment and skills services with greater impact than ever before.”

Fusion21 was advised by Brian McCann and Adam McGowan from MC Vanguard, the Liverpool-based Corporate Finance arm of Mitchell Charlesworth. Kieran Donovan from Bermans solicitors provided legal advice.
