Peter Higham, founder of Higham & Co, said: “Merging Higham & Co into WYG will create a number of synergies which will be a great benefit to the client base of both firms.

“I am particularly excited at the prospect of working within a team that includes experts in a wide range of different disciplines including environmental, highways and engineering.”

David Lowin, head of planning at WYG said: “We are delighted to announce the acquisition of Higham & Co which underlines our commitment to expand our town planning skills not only in the North West but in the UK as a whole. Manchester and the wider North West region will see major growth as we emerge from the recession and the strengthening of our town planning team seeks to meet existing and future clients’ town planning needs as the economy recovers.”

He added: “Higham & Co has a first class reputation with representation in key sectors that complement those in which WYG already has a strong track record. I am in no doubt that Higham & Co will add strength in depth both to our Manchester office and to WYG as a whole and I am very excited about the future of our town planning business in the North West.”
