CONVIVIALITY Retail, the Crewe-based company which owns Bargain Booze, has appointed London-based More as the lead creative agency for its brands, which also include Wine Rack.

The appointment was made following a three-way pitch in September.

More will deliver a range of integrated advertising campaigns throughout the next 12 months, including the Bargain Booze Christmas TV campaign.

Adam Burnett, marketing director at Conviviality Retail, said: “More demonstrated an affinity with our brands and developed a tone of voice that we feel will achieve the cut-through we need. Our advertising has to work hard to deliver results for our franchisees and we’re confident that More’s fresh approach will help us to do that.”

ALEX Duckett, senior account executive at Manchester communications agency Havas PR, has been chosen as one of PR Week’s “30 under 30” for 2013.

At just 22, Alex from Urmston is the youngest of 30 young PR professionals to be named in the industry’s list of rising stars, having been selected from over 200 entries.

Alex joined the agency’s Manchester office in August 2011 as a year’s paid placement from Leeds Metropolitan University, where he was studying for a degree in public relations.   

Following his internship, the company retained him three days a week during his final year of university. When he graduated in June 2013, he was appointed immediately as a senior account executive.

Brian Beech, managing director of Havas PR’s Manchester and Edinburgh offices, said: “In his first year with us, Alex showed he was a PR natural, winning both the trust and respect of his colleagues by providing unstinting support in the capacity of account executive. CODE Computerlove in Manchester has made a film for the Electrical Safety Council promoting home safety.

The charity has also appointed Code to design and build a new website for launch early 2014.

Code’s creative director Stefan Shaw said: “This is a completely new approach for the Electrical Safety Council, who wanted to be able to reach as many consumers as possible, cost-effectively, in social media channels. The video, as a disruptive marketing tool, delivers greater standout for important, but often ignored, safety messages.”
 
Emma Apter, the Electrical Safety Council’s head of communications, said: “The run up to Christmas is a particularly important time of year to convey safety messages about the value of buying genuine goods, as people look for ways to save money on gifts such as hairdryers, straighteners and electric gadgets. The video quite clearly shows the consequences of buying knock off goods and we hope it can actually save lives this year.”

A MANCHESTER-based digital marketing firm has picked up the account for online clothing retailer Recreo.

I-COM said it will take on all aspects of the online marketing and work in partnership with Recreo to help grow the brand.
