Administrators appointed to Langtree Homes

WIGAN-based property firm Langtree Homes has closed down with the loss of five jobs.

The business, which is unconnected to the larger Langtree Group had some apartments in Brockhall Village, Lancashire, and Prenton on the Wirral, as well as development land with planning permission in Brockhall Village.

Paul Dumbell and Brian Green from KPMG’s Restructuring team were appointed joint administrators on December 18.

Agent Edward Symmons has been appointed to manage and maintain the properties. The development land has been mothballed and will be marketed for sale in January 2014.

The business was owned by John Kelsey and David Mayhall, who is also a director of All Gates Brewery in Wigan.

Mr Dumbell said: “Despite a general upturn in the residential property market, Langtree Homes suffered from working capital issues that resulted in the administration. The appointment of agent Edward Symmons will ensure minimal disruption to tenants while the assets are marketed for sale.”
