Pannone Corporate flies solo and looks to hire

PANNONE Corporate – the firm remaining after the £33m acqusition of the bulk of Pannone by Australia’s Slater & Gordon – is looking to hire says managing partner Paul Jonson.

Mr Jonson, presently head of dispute resolution at Pannone, says the new stand-alone firm is looking to strengthen its real estate, commercial and construction teams.

It is anticipated the Slater & Gordon deal, which is scheduled to complete in February, will see the corporate, commercial, debt recovery, pensions and non-contentious construction teams transfer to Pannone Corporate along with around half of the dispute resolution and employment teams and parts of the insolvency and banking teams

Pannone’s senior partner Steven Grant has become chairman of the Pannone Corporate, which will comprise around 65 staff members, including approximately 50 lawyers.

As it looks to hire real estate lawyers Pannone Corporate says it will, where appropriate, continue to work with the commercial property team which is transferring to Slater & Gordon to ensure existing clients receive a seamless service.

Mr Jonson said: “We have aligned our teams to fit with our strategic aims and the culture of Pannone Corporate. The team includes lawyers who are leaders in their field across a number of disciplines and we are looking forward to adding new like-minded members to the team in the near future.”

Mr Grant added:  “Pannone’s corporate and commercial clients have been very supportive of our plans and we are looking forward to working with many of them in the future.”
