Gulf Aviation wins Blackpool supply contract

CERTAS Energy, the Warrington-based company, has won a contract to supply fuel to Blackpool Airport.

The contract will be fulfilled by Gulf Aviation – Certas’ aviation brand-  and will see the airport supplied with more than nine million litres of Jet A1 fuel a year.

Gulf Aviation already supplies several other regional airports including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee.

Alex Murphy, head of Gulf Aviation, said: “This latest contract with Blackpool International airport is a significant win for us, extending our work with regional airports, and enabling us to showcase the benefits of working with a specialist supplier with extensive experience of the aviation industry.

“We are committed to further extending our presence in the aviation industry, both in regional airports and beyond.”

Certas Energy, which was known until October 2013 as GB Oils, is a subsidiary of DCC Energy, which is headquartered in Dublin and listed on the London Stock Exchange.

The company operates a network of more than 150 depots, nearly 1,000 tankers and has 2,500 employees.
