Appointments: Graham & Brown; Mills & Reeve & more

GRAHAM & Brown, the family-owned, Lancashire-based  wall decoration brand, has appointed Mike McGuire to the new position of head of design.

Mr McGuire previously spent 10 years at ceramics group Portmeirion, where he was director of design and a member of the UK board. Prior to that he was design director at Vymura.

In his new position, McGuire will work closely with Alan Kemp, head of brand marketing, to build Graham & Brown’s global product portfolio, including collaboration collections with designers like Kelly Hoppen, Wayne Hemingway, Julien McDonald and Laurence Llewellyn-Bowen.

Mr McGuire added: “Graham & Brown is a UK success story and an historic brand which has successfully grown into new markets by ensuring innovation and world-class design are at the centre of everything it does. I’m excited to be part a truly creative team and look forward to using my experience to bring our products to new customers.”

Blackburn-based Graham & Brown operates facilities in the UK, US, France, Holland, Russia, Canada, Australia, Dubai and China.

NIGEL Shepherd, a partner at the Manchester office of national law firm Mills & Reeve, has been appointed vice chair of national family law organisation, Resolution.

This means Mr Shepherd will take over as chair in 2016 from current chair Jo Edwards in a move that will see him become the only lawyer to have been national chair twice – last time being in 1995 to 1997.

He said: “I have been involved with the organisation for over 25 years during which time it has gone from strength to strength in terms of the services we offer our members and which help them give the best advice and support to their clients. I am looking forward to playing my part in its continued development.”

MARINE products manufacturer International Safety Products of Bootle has recruited a new regional sales manager.

The firm, which is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of inflatable lifejackets, has appointed Simon Potts to drive sales in the UK and parts of Northern Europe.

ISP sales director Geoff Billington said: “Simon has strong experience in our sector and is well placed to help drive our broader growth plan. We have tasked him with driving sales of key products within specific territories.”
