Revenues continue to climb at NCC Group

MANCHESTER-based IT security firm NCC Group has reported another strong rise in revenues.

In an interim management statement covering the 10 months to the end of March, the stock market-listed group said turnover was up by 12% to £90.4m.

The company said over 38% of revenues are now from outside the UK with the majority in North America.  Organic growth in the period climbed from 7% a year ago to 10%.

For some time now Manchester-based NCC has been working on a new division called Artemis based on new domain names being released by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to increase capacity.

It had set its sights .secure but Amazon is also keen and an auction is expected to take place in January. Earlier in the year it acquired .trust, from the German postal group Deutsche Post, and it plans to launch the service at a conference in June.

Chief executive Rob Cotton said: “We have delivered another period of consistent growth, mainly organic, in revenue and profitability across the group and remain on course to meet our expectations for the financial year to May 31. The development of our new division, NCC Group Domain Services, remains on track.

“We expect to launch our new service using the safer internet domain .trust, in effect an online secure gated community, in the next financial year. Our solid performance in the current financial year in growing markets positions us well for next year. With strong recurring revenues and good forward visibility, we are confident that we will maintain our double digit organic growth and strong cash generation.”

The firm’s escrow division provides software insurance services, allowing companies to protect against the collapse of a software developer by holding vital information, such as the software source codes. It also operates an assurance business which protects IT systems from hackers.
