PROPERTY agent Edwards & Co has promoted Richard Dinsdale to associate director.

Dinsdale has been at Edwards & Co for almost eight years, joining as a graduate surveyor in June 2006.

Director Andrew Timms said: “Richard is an asset to our team and his mature and diligent attitude has paid off in the recent difficult market conditions. During his time at the firm he has driven a number of key deals and has built up a strong client base.

“There has been a significant increase in activity in this first quarter and it is important that we continue to deliver the depth of knowledge and level of service our clients have come to recognise us for.”

MANCHESTER and Glossop law firm Davis Blank Furniss has appointed Carlyn Weale to its dispute resolution department.

She has joined as a solicitor advocate which means she can represent clients in the higher courts in England and Wales.

Her specialisms are in commercial litigation and in advocacy so her new role will see her manage a number of fast-track and multi-track disputes, including: breach of contract claims, shareholders disputes, professional negligence and debt claims. She will be working closely with partner Andrew Ryan.

Weale qualified in 2008 after completing her training at Rowlands Solicitors in Manchester. She joined Davis Blank Furniss from Turner Parkinson where she built up her experience of dealing with various types of work including shareholders disputes and breach of contract claims.

Managing partner Kate Oldfield said: “Dispute resolution is a growing and buoyant part of our offering so Carlyn’s joining is great news and comes at an exciting time for the department. She is a hugely talented solicitor advocate and her skill set is a real asset to the firm and our clients.”

BIRKENHEAD-based Cabdinf.com, which has developed a texi booking system, has made two senior appointments.

Debbie Thompson has joined as non-executive director and James Gallacher joins as chief information officer.

Thompson, of DT Commercial Consultancy, has been working with Cabfind.com since March 2013, as a commercial consultant to identify the development needs of the business.

Gallacher has more than 20 years’ experience in executing the digital and information technology strategies for companies including O2, BT Cellnet, Phones4U, DX Communications and McLaren Software.
