Alan White joins shoe maker Hotter as chairman

ALAN White, the former chief executive of multi-channel plus-size retailer N Brown Group, has joined North West shoe manufacturer and retailer Hotter as its non-executive chairman.

Mr White’s appointment follows the a secondary private equity buyout at the Skelmersdale-based company led by Electra Partners. The deal reportedly valued the business at £150m.

Hotter chief executive Peter Taylor said: “Alan brings a wealth of home shopping experience as well as direct knowledge of retail and international expansion. His knowledge and advice will be invaluable in helping us continue to grow the business over the coming years. ‘

Mr White added: “Hotter has a strong track record of successful growth and is ideally positioned to continue this trend as it operates in a growing demographic segment, has a strong product and customer ethos and is developing a profitable international presence.

“I am looking forward to working alongside the management team to help them realise their ambitions for the brand.”

Mr White stood down at N Brown last autumn after a more than 10 years as chief executive. He now holds non-executive directorships at Direct Wines and Topps Tiles.
