Leisure Lakes wins holiday home appeal

LEISURE Lakes has secured planning for 49 holiday homes near Southport following an appeal.

The development was initially refused by West Lancashire Borough Council but this decision has been over-ruled by a Government planning inspector.

The Leisure Lakes outdoor pursuits and camping site lies within the Green Belt and much of it is within a Biological Heritage Site covered by a Woodland Tree Preservation Order.

Bury-based Maze Planning Solutions and Manchester-based adviser Urban Green worked with Leisure Lakes on the application.

Andrew Watt, partner at Maze Planning Solutions said: “The pragmatism was embraced by all parties and the co-operative approach that resulted was key to the approval of reserved matters, which is an outcome I believe all parties are happy with.”
