Dunlop Heywood absorbs Longden & Cook

MANCHESTER-based commercial property agent Dunlop Heywood has merged with surveyor Longden & Cook.

It said Longden & Cook has already moved from its office in Deansgate to Dunlop Heywood’s new headquarters in Police Street.

L&C partner Peter Townley has acted for the Diocese of Manchester for the past 34 years, as well as the United Reform Church, The Salvation Army, the North Western Baptist Association and The Methodist Church.

Longden & Cook Commercial, which is led by Gareth Kreike, continues to work independently and is not affected by the merger. It is part of a larger property services group which includes the Alex Dines residential estate agent and Summermere, a commercial property manager.

Dunlop Heywood’s managing director Stuart Hicks said: “The client workload has grown massively over the years and Peter will be working with director John Valentine on these new, high profile accounts.

“Both elements of the business will benefit from combining our expertise and resources, ensuring there is a seamless expansion of services to all our clients as we continue to grow. Part of our long-term strategy is to continue on the acquisition route and we are actively looking for new opportunities in both the Manchester and Leeds markets.”
