Axon Resourcing set for record year and £10m turnover

AXON Resourcing, the Warrington-based recruitment firm has reported a strong start to the year, and believes it is on track to top £10m for the first time.

Half year turnover at the firm which recruits permanent and temporary finance, IT and HR staff grew 22% to £5m.

Axon, which has around 30 staff, says its record half year is down to rising demand for interim contractors, and has also seen a up tick in the number of permanent senior and executive recruitment briefs in both the private and public sector across North and Midlands.

Co-founder and managing director Andy Edwards said: “We have experienced growth in all areas through the first half of 2014 but notably we have seen an increase in the amount of six -figure retained assignments we have been instructed on, and a growing appetite to appoint more generally at the executive level.

“We are on target for our biggest ever year and likely to exceed the milestone target of £10m.  More importantly this is profitable growth and the business remains 100% owner managed and debt free.”

Axon’s bluechip clients include Shop Direct, Boots, Sainsbury’s, Gala Coral and Tetrosyl. Its public sector clients include Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust.

It was founded in 2003 by Mr Edwards and fellow director Virginia Mellers and has offices in Wolverhampton and Castle Donington as well as at Stockton Heath near Warrington.
