Rogerson boosts senior team at Speedy

NEW Speedy Hire chief executive Mark Rogerson has boosted his senior team with four hires to key roles in the tool and equipment rental business.

Adrian Murphy has been appointed chief operating officer UK, with responsibility for  domestic operations along with leading regional and specialist solution sales. Prior to joining Newton-le-Willows based Speedy, Mr Murphy worked for United Technologies Corporation, firstly as MD for Chubb Fire and Security Systems, and later as commercial director UK, Ireland and Benelux for its building industrial systems division.

Tony Bennett has been appointed corporate development officer, with responsibility for strategy, planning, corporate activity, corporate communications and social responsibility.

His previous career has seen him take om executive roles with Office Depot Inc. and the Rentokil Initial Group.

The third new face is Steve Giblin, who joins as group health, safety, security, environment, and quality director.  

Mr Giblin has joined from Scapa, the listed North West technical tapes manufacturer, and has also worked for United Utilities and British Gas Centrica.

Meanwhile former British Army  man Ed Cowell has joined as head of major accounts, overseeing sales to some of Speedy’s largest national customers. His business career began at Barclays Private Bank and he joins Speedy from G4S, where he has held a number of senior roles, including international account director and most recently as global sales director for the risk management business.

Commentiong on his new hires, Mr Rogerson said: “The broad experience they bring from both inside and outside our industry, combined with new internal appointments to the senior leadership team, gives us the right blend of skills to accelerate the implementation of our growth strategy.
