Avecto reports surge in revenue and employee numbers

AWARD-winning security software company Avecto has capped a year of progress with annual results showing 26% growth in sales to £8.5m.

The Cheadle company, which also has offices in the US and Australia, now employs more than 100 people, up 60% on a year ago.

Avecto, which was a winner in this year’s EY Northern Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, has developed a Windows-based application called Privilege Guard.  More than four million people use its services around the world and customers include seven of the world’s biggest banks, nine aerospace companies and three F1 teams.

Co-founder and chief executive Mark Austin said: “Our focus on continued product innovation has been fundamental to our success. We’ve carved out a market-leading offering which allows businesses to balance security with user freedom.

“It has been an incredibly successful few years. Once again we have reported double digit revenue growth and the whole team deserves enormous credit.”

Mr Austin added: “To hit the 100 employee mark is a very important milestone but what’s key now is to get even more of the right people on board as we continue our recruitment drive. We have a very important few months ahead, and with some major announcements on the horizon, it’s an exciting time to be at Avecto.”

As well as the EY technology award, Avecto has recently been named as a ‘vendor to watch’ by global analyst firm Forrester, while last year it was named the fastest growing software company in the UK according to Deloitte’s Fast 50 ranking.

Avecto is co-owned by Mr Austin and fellow directors Paul Kenyon and Tony Bolland.
