Mills returns to Manchester with Colliers switch

INVESTMENT specialist Jonathan Mills is returning to this North West roots by moving to real estate advisory firm Colliers International in Manchester from rival JLL.

Mr Mills, who will head Colliers’ investment business in the North West, will concentrate on both buy and sell-side, advising funds institutions and developers; while also working with the firm’s national investment team.

Tony Horrell, chief executive UK & Ireland at Colliers International said: “There is huge potential in the North West as we’ve already seen with recent deals for Schroder’s at City Tower and our appointment at Noma. Jonathan is the ideal candidate to lead our investment business there and successfully advise our clients during this exciting period.”

Mr Mills joins the firm from JLL where has spent the last 13 years, most recently in London.

He has a strong track record in the North West most notably for his involvement in M&G’s £320m purchase of RBS’s 450,000 sq ft 1 Hardman Boulevard and its smaller 240,000 sq ft office on Deansgate in Manchester; advising on the sale of Manchester’s 100,000 sq ft Chancery Place and Resolution’s acquisition of Great Northern Warehouse for £72m; and he was involved in advising the Co-op on the £140m sale of One Angel Square.

Andrew McFarlane, head of Colliers in Manchester added: “It’s always been our intention to fill the investment role with one of the top performers in the market; so Jonathan joining the team will allow us to do that and help to us to continue to grow and develop in the North West.”

Mr Mills concluded: “The opportunity to join Colliers at such an exciting time in its development in the UK; at the same time as returning to my home city; doesn’t come around very often.  Colliers’ latest acquisitions of BCL and H2SO, plus the quality individuals that it has boosted the team with recently, have been enough to convince me that this is a success story that I want to be part of.”

He is likely to join Colliers International in the next few months.
