Endless backs secondary buyout at Gradus

A NORTH West commercial interior services company has undergone a secondary management buyout backed by Endless.

Macclesfield-based Gradus, which has turnover of £40m, has been bought from  Caird Capital for an undisclosed sum.

Employing around 300 people, the business was founded more than 50 years ago and has evolved from being a manufacturer and supplier of flooring accessories into a broadly based commercial interior solutions provider offering a portfolio of products.

Chief executive Steve Watt said: “We are delighted that Endless has supported us in acquiring the business as we move onto the next phase of growth. We are excited about the opportunities being presented to us in the current market for our market leading products both here in the UK and overseas.”

Francesco Santinon, who led the deal for Endless, added: “Gradus is a great example of a stable and growing business which has demonstrated its strong market position through the recession. Endless is delighted to support the current management team to fully realise the business’s potential as its end markets continue to benefit from the strong recovery in the economy.”

Mr Santinon and colleague Ian Plumb have joined Gradus as non-executive directors.
