Half-year sales up 31% at Boohoo

ONLINE fashion retailer boohoo.com has seen a surge in half-year revenues.

The Manchester-based group, which floated earlier this year and has a market value of £500m, said sales were up by 31% to £67m in the six months to the end of August.

In a brief statement it said the improvement had been expected and was particularly strong in the second quarter when revenues increased by 37%, up from 24% in the first three months.

Growth was the strongest in the UK and Europe where sales increased by 50%. Elsewhere in the world sales improved by 8%.

Boohoo confirms that it continues to trade in line with expectations for the full year to February 28, 2015.
