Labour conference ‘worth £25m to Manchester’
THIS month's Labour Party conference in Manchester is expected to add £25.4m to the city's economy.
Marketing Manchester, which led the bid to secure the conference, has estimated the figure based on the value of media coverage and the amount delegates and exhibitors will spend.
Around 11,000 are expected at Manchester Central from September 21-24 and there will be hundreds of fringe events across the city. It is the fifth Labour conference in Manchester since 2006.
