Lakes holiday park changes hands

THANET Well Country Park holiday park in Cumbria has been bought by Darwin Holiday and Lesiure Resorts.

The 10-acre site, near Penrith, has 63 timber holiday lodges and was previously owned by Bridge Leisure.

Colliers International handled the sale and was asking for offers over £3m. The transaction value was not disclosed.

Richard Moss, of the specialist parks division of Colliers International, said: “Thanet Well provides an excellent opportunity to benefit from the strong UK holiday short stay market while also providing excellent future sales opportunities by filling the vacant pitches and potentially developing additional pitches.

“The park offers excellent access to the Lake District – a major draw for both private and short stay visitors – but is away from the hustle and bustle of the popular tourist towns.”
