Acquisition boosts Brabners’ private client team

LAW firm Brabners has agreed to buy the smaller Manchester practice Lawson Coppock & Hart.

Lawson Coppock & Hart dates back to the 1870s and specialises in private client and commercial property work.

The deal will add three consultants – Paul Lochery, Richard Rawsthorn, and Eamonn Kelly – one associate and one secretary to Brabners’ Manchester office.

Mark Brandwood, managing partner at Brabners, said: “Lawson Coppock & Hart is a well-established and highly regarded law firm with an excellent reputation in private client and commercial property work. The transaction will significantly increase the size of our private client capability in Manchester, as well as adding to our commercial property offering.”

Paul Lochery of Lawson Coppock & Hart said: “Despite the difference in size between the two firms we share many common aims and values. These include a determination to work closely with clients to provide a wide range of effective client-focused legal services which deliver value for money.”

Brabners has 350 staff across three offices in Liverpool, Manchester and Preston. The deal is expected to complete on November 1.
