Altrincham law firm opens in London

ALTRINCHAM law firm McHale and Co has opened an office in London.

The firm said the move was partly motivated by its growing Russian and Polish client base.

Partner Maria Udalova-Surkova, a Muscovite who has worked in the UK legal sector for 15 years, will run the Berkeley Square office which the firm said was in an area popular with Russian entrepreneurs based in the capital.

Fellow partner Marta Grzelak will also move part of her client portfolio work to Berkeley Square.

Ms Udalova-Surkova said: “As well as providing all the traditional professional support services for high-worth UK-residents working in, living in, or moving in or out of London, we also have established teams working with both Russian and Polish individuals and businesses.

“While the spotlight may be on the political disagreements with Russia, there are many Russian people and businesses who are not affected by the issues making the headlines. While it’s true they are creating wealth for themselves, of whatever scale, it is also true they are creating jobs and wealth for British workers too – and they are buying property both for business and residential purposes.”

McHale and Co, was founded in 2001 and employs 50.
