Aura Healthcare opens Salford HQ

MEDICAL software company Aura Healthcare has opened its new headquarters in Salford Quays.

Aura, which was founded in November 2012 with just five people, has sales of more than £1m and now employs 30 at a 2,800 sq ft office at Exchange Quay. A further 10 are based in Belfast.

Launched by two former directors of key NHS supplier iSoft, Adrian Stevens and Mark Hindle, Aura previously had its headquarters in Reading but most of its staff in Chadderton, Oldham.

It said the move will give it the space to grow at a time when it plans to strengthen its specialist software development team and create additional jobs in sales, finance, and marketing.

Chief executive Adrian Stevens said: “We did consider a number of locations, but Salford City Council has been hugely supportive and encouraging so it’s clear we made the right choice. Working in partnership with the council we want to bring new jobs to the area and invest in Salford.”

Managing director Mark Hindle added: “The technology and transport infrastructure and council support, is geared towards helping businesses grow and achieve their potential. The universities and large pool of talented people with the right digital skills, makes Salford an ideal location for creative, innovative and ambitious technology companies.”
