UKFast to beef up technical team

MANCHESTER data centre firm UKFast is recruiting bringing 50 staff as it plans to double the size of its technical team.

The firm, which expects revenues to exceed £30m by the end of 2014 is looking for Windows and Linux specialists as well as data centre engineers.

Chief executive Lawrence Jones said: “I have long said that Manchester firms must step up and keep our skilled workers here, rather than leaving them no option but to head to the capital. Now, once again, we’re able to do just that.

“We’re recruiting for more than 50 technical engineers across all areas of the business – from the support engineers who help keep our clients online, to solutions architects who create bespoke hosting environments.

“It’s an exciting time for UKFast, we’ve had a fantastic year so far which has enabled us to create more jobs than ever. We started the year on an apprentice recruitment push and now have a whole new wave of apprentices starting next month.”

UKFast is based at Manchester Technology Park in Hulme where it has around 220 staff.
