Hawthorn buys out Nectar Taverns

NECTAR Taverns, which operates 25 pubs in the North West, has been sold to Hawthorn Leisure.

The value of the deal, which represents a sale between two investment firms, was not disclosed.

Wiltshire-based Hawthorn is backed by New York investment group Avenue Capital.

It was set up earlier this year with the acquisition of 275 pubs from brewer Greene King and it now has nearly 400, including the latest deal.

Nectar has been sold by a London-based investment group called Mountain Capital.

Commercial agent Colliers International advised on the sale.
