Appointments: Smalley moves to Mix Media; Crowe Clark Whitehill & more

THE former regional managing director of publisher Newsco Insider, David Smalley, has joined Mix Media, the publishing division of Manchester-based Out There Events.

Smalley joins as a director and will work with managing director Marcie Incarico with a brief to grow Mix, which publishes Mix Interiors, a magazine for the UK office interiors market.
 
Marcie Incarico said: “We are delighted that David has joined us, he will bring over 20 years’ publishing experience and through his drive, help us push onto the next level of our development.”

Smalley was most recently with Insider Media, the Manchester-based regional business publisher.

James Timpson, managing director of The Timpson Group, the parent company of Out There Events and Mix Media, added: “Readers and clients of Mix Media will benefit from both David’s knowledge and energy and he will strengthen our already first rate team.”

REBECCA Durrant has been appointed a tax partner at Crowe Clark Whitehill’s Manchester office.

She previously managed the personal tax team in Manchester specialising in personal tax and private client work.

Durrant also advises on employment tax issues such as employment status, salary sacrifice arrangements, benefits and expenses.

She is also an active member of the Manchester branch of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

LAW firm Weightmans has hired Haydn Rogan from DWF.

Rogan, who is also a chartered accountant, previously headed the tax team at Cobbetts which was acquired by DWF.

Paul Raftery, partner and head of Weightmans’ Corporate and Commercial department, said: “Haydn is an experienced Corporate Tax lawyer with a long track record advising clients at national level of all sectors and sizes on tax issues, property matters and employee incentives.
