Charbrew signed up by Waitrose as fundraising progresses

CHARBREW Tea has today announced that it has secured a deal with supermarket chain Waitrose to sell its range of speciality teas.

Waitrose will stock four ranges including: Chocolate Orange Rooibos, Strawberry Kiwi; Strawberry & Cream; and Peaches & Cream.

Based in Thelwall near Warrington,  Charbrew was founded in 2009 by Adam Soliman from his parent’s house. The company now supplies several major retailers including Tesco and Holland & Barrett.

Mr Soliman is in the midst of a process to raise £150,000 through the sale of an 11.69% stake in his business through the Seedrs crowdfunding platform. So far he has raised £117,000 from 105 investors.

Mr Soliman said: “With Waitrose we wanted to try something new. We decided to offer Charbrew in a smaller pack size to encourage consumers to step away from cheap paper teabags and encourage trial of quality premium fruit and herbal teas. The response from Waitrose has been very encouraging and we will continue to work closely with the team to deliver innovative new tea products to the supermarket aisles.”
