Bigger and better- NW Business Masters Awards returns for 2015

THEBUSINESSDESK.COM is delighted to launch the North West Business Masters Awards 2015, which will recognise excellence, entrepreneurship, growth and enterprise in the region’s corporate community.

The awards, which will be held at Manchester’s historic Midland Hotel on March 12 2015 , will be bigger and better than before with a new evening format and a high-end black-tie dinner.

For 2015 there are a number of new categories, including awards for successful performance by listed companies, and for businesses running Apprenticeship schemes.

Our popular North West Manufacturer and Exporter categories are split into two to reward both SMEs and larger businesses and the other new award is for the Fast Growth Business, alongside the Pride, Innovator, Newcomer and Ambassador categories.

All entries – and you can nominate your own business or someone else’s – will go in front of our panel of judges – who will be revealed soon – and the shortlists, from which the winning entries will be announced on the night, will be made public soon after.

Previous North West Business Masters winners include Fred Done, the serial entrepreneur whose interests range from his BetFred betting chain to property development, funding, digital, sports holidays and most recently roadside cafes.

Other big names to have been recognised include Jaguar LandRover’s Halewood operations, which continues to produce world-leading cars such as the Evoque and now the Discovery Sport.

Manufacturers Oliver Valves and WFEL are other regional success stories to have been honoured, alongside individuals such as Bruntwood’s Michael Oglesby, retired insurance company boss Carole Nash and lawyer Maurice Watkins, who have done so much to support a host of good causes.

Chris Barry, editor of TheBusinessDesk.com in the North West, said: “We’re very excited about the changes we have made to this year’s Masters Awards.

“Moving the event to the evening means that we’ve got more time and so we have expanded the award categories to reward different size and type of businesses.

“With the business agenda so much focused on both growing international trade and developing young talent, we were really keen to expand the Export category and also to recognise businesses doing great work with Apprenticeship schemes.

“In the past few years some of the most dynamic businesses in the region have prospered in our awards and we fully expect that to be the case again this year. We look forward to receiving soem excellent entries. Good luck.”
