Allied London wins consent for former Mirror print centre

SPINNINGFIELDS developer Allied London is working with property investor Aerium on a mixed use plan for the Daily Mirror’s former printing headquarters in London.

Aerium, which owns 3 Hardman Street in Spinningfields, bought Herbal House in Farringdon with Allied London for £26m two years ago.

Planning approval has now been granted for 120,000 sq ft of flexible workspace, retail space and apartments.

Allied London chief executive Mike Ingall said: “Herbal House offers an extremely rare opportunity in the centre of London, both in terms of scale and quality, to create some of the best new workspace and retail facilities in the area.

“We believe that Herbal House can offer occupiers a unique experience; not just a place to go to work, but a place where ideas and creativity can flow, a place where there’s a real and defined culture to the building.

“Our careful market research tells us that modern businesses are evolving and have different needs to what they once had. Herbal House addresses this fact and will provide the modern, customisable space that fast paced emerging and corporate businesses desire.”
