MAG adds 10 Flybe routes

MANCHESTER Airports Group (MAG) has struck a deal with Flybe to serve 10 new routes from three of its airports.

MAG, which owns Manchester, London Stansted, East Midlands and Bournemouth airports, said the flights will add 500,000 extra passengers.

New services will launch from Stansted and Bournemouth in March, while existing services from Manchester and East Midlands will be extended.

Stansted will introduce two daily flights to Newcastle and a three a day to the Isle of Man, which will also provide additional frequency on the Isle of Man – Manchester route. Stansted will also have a new summer service to Newquay.

At Bournemouth there will be two daily services to Glasgow and Manchester, plus four weekly services to Amsterdam and Paris Charles de Gaulle. In addition, Flybe will also serve French and Spanish tourist destinations, with routes to be announced in the coming weeks.

Ken O’Toole, chief commercial officer, said: “There are more than 42 million UK residents living in close proximity to either Manchester, London Stansted, East Midlands and Bournemouth Airports. Today’s announcement by Flybe will give further choice and options for passengers who wish to fly from a MAG airport.

“With more than 45 million people already flying annually from our airports, including three million Flybe passengers, this announcement further confirms the critical role MAG plays in UK aviation, and how existing available capacity across UK airports can support the ambitions of airlines looking to grow in London and beyond.”
