Two arrested in fraud enquiry

GREATER Manchester Police have arrested two men as part of a fraud investigation into a number of companies including Manchester consultancy the Entrusted Group.

Ancoats-based Entrusted is owned by Stephen Day who is a director along with Andrew Silver.

A creditors’ meeting is being held at 11am today at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Manchester city centre where a liquidator will be appointed.

Mr Day established the business in 2006 and according to its website it has worked on corporate turnaround jobs and projects to improve efficiency in public sector organisations such as the NHS.

GMP has not confirmed the identities of the two men, who were arrested on suspicion of fraud. They have been bailed without charge.

A spokesman said: “Greater Manchester Police Fraud Investigation Team has arrested two men in connection with an ongoing investigation into fraudulent activities of a number of limited companies including the Entrusted Group.

“The two men, aged 47 and 43, were arrested on suspicion of fraud and have been bailed till March 2015 pending further enquiries. Enquiries are ongoing.”

Entrusted was handling the management accounts at Asia House, an apartment block in Manchester, but this has been picked up by RMG since the police launched their investigation.
