Region’s most expensive streets revealed

SOUTH Manchester suburbs such as Hale and Bowdon and well-heeled Cheshire locations Prestbury. Wilmslow and Knutsford, dominate a list of the North West’s most expensive roads.

Not one of the top 50 in the country is outside London and the Home Counties, according to research by according to latest research from Lloyds Bank.

Park Lane in Hale is ranked number one in the regional list, with an average property price of £2,494,000. It is followed by South Road in nearby Bowdon (£2,025,000).

Other exclusive addresses include Withinlee Road (£1,960,000) and Castle Hill (£1,856,000) – both in Prestbury – Leycester Road in Knutsford (£1,760,000) and Thorsway in West Kirby in the Wirral (£1,351,000).

Bowdon is home to three of the top 10 most valuable streets, Knutsford two, Prestbury two, Wilmslow, Hale and Wirral, all have one representative,
 
Andy Hulme, mortgages director at Lloyds Bank, said: “The region’s most expensive streets are generally in areas south of Manchester, such as Altrincham, Prestbury and Wilmslow.

“These are all well known hotspots for those who aspire to have it all, and boast eight of the ten most expensive streets. All of these areas have outstanding properties, excellent schools, good shopping facilities and are on the edge of the countryside but still close enough to the centre of Manchester.”

Grosvenor Crescent in Westminster was rated as the nation’s most expensive street. Average property values there is a staggering £16.9m. The Lloyds research was based on data from Land Resistry and Royal Mail.
