Co-operative Travel Management moves to Manchester

CO-OPERATIVE Travel Management, the corporate travel business, has relocated from Altrincham into Manchester city centre.

It has given up space at tabley Court, Altrincham in favour of a 10-year lease on 10,000 sq ft at the Churchgate building in Oxford Street.

Helical Bar acquired the Grade II-isted Churchgate & Lee buildings for £34m in March from US private equity firm Angelo Gordon and Dunedin Property.

The buildings have 250,000 sq ft of offices space at rents from £14.50-£16.50/sq ft. CBRE advised CTM while OBI represented Helical Bar.

CTM chief executive Patrick McDonagh said: “Moving back to the city centre is a key part of our plans to grow our business. Manchester offers access to a rich pool of talent, ensuring we recruit and retain the best. Churchgate house promises to be a great location from which to do this.”

CBRE associate director Kirsty Littleford said: “After an extensive search of properties, the firm decided on Churchgate which offers some of the largest floor-plates in the city and the impressive new reception provides the right level of presence for both occupiers and visitors.”

Co-operative Travel Management was acquired by Saudi Arabian business Al Tayyar for £13.5m in May.
