Findel sells six-acre Accrington site

FINDEL, the North West home shopping and education business, has sold a six-acre site in Accrington to housebuilder Persimmon.

The company has been marketing the Hambledon Mill site for several years after securing planning permission for 91 homes and two business units in 2011.

Persimmon is due to start work on site in the new year.

In recent years, Findel has shifted the focus of its operations away from its former headquarters at Burley-in-Wharfedale in West Yorkshire and the Accrington site to a new HQ near Hyde and a major warehouse and call centre building at a former BAE Systems site in Chadderton, near Oldham.

Trevor Dawson and Dove Haigh Phillips advised Findel on the sale. The value of the land was not disclosed.

Michael Cavannagh of Trevor Dawson said: “This site when redeveloped will provide good quality residential properties located in an attractive area of Accrington close to many local amenities whilst also providing excellent access to the town centre and M65 motorway.”
