IFB 2016 goes global with new tie-up

THE UK’s second International Festival for Business to be hosted in Liverpool in 2016, will partner with the GREAT Britain campaign to promote the UK around the world.

The agreement for a formal partnership builds on cooperation between IFB and GREAT in the run-up to the inaugural highly successful IFB 2014 event.

GREAT’s delivery network in 144 countries will work with IFB to leading international business figures to the attend and to woo more delegates to the 2016 event.

Conrad Bird, director of the GREAT Britain campaign said: “We are delighted to announce this partnership between the GREAT Britain campaign and IFB 2016.

“IFB is a unique, global platform to promote UK businesses operating in some of the country’s most vibrant sectors. The GREAT campaign is a strong platform for IFB to use and a fantastic asset for British companies looking to forge new connections and open up new markets abroad. I’d encourage British business to seize the opportunity to get involved in IFB 2016 and join this GREAT partnership.”

The GREAT Britain campaign is a Government-funded international promotional campaign to showcase what Britain has to offer in order to encourage the world to visit, study and do business with the UK.

Joe Anderson, Mayor of Liverpool, said: “IFB 2014 delivered great results and bore out my belief that Liverpool and the region were ready to promote our first class business credentials on a bigger stage and help the national imperative of growing our economy.

“We are delighted to host again the IFB in 2016, on behalf of the UK. We want to build on the success of 2014, so this full integration with the GREAT campaign will undoubtedly help us achieve our ambition to make this a truly international festival.”
