25 jobs saved in Primary Care takeover

PRIMARY Care Group has stepped in to save two care homes in South Cumbria, safeguarding 25 jobs.

The company has acquired the Beamsmoor Care at Home firm in Ulverston, which also serves the Barrow area, and its sister Mint Quality Care operating in Kendal.

Primary Care says domiciliary care services provided for older people in both areas will continue with additional management support from the new parent company.

A spokesman for Primary Care said: “These were two businesses which needed saving and we were able to step in with enough time to ensure there was no loss of service for the customers and the reassurance for their families that they will receive only the highest quality of care.

“Additional services will come on stream in both areas once we have everything in place and we want to ensure that we have all of our processes in place to support our customers and staff.”

The Kendal centre will be led by manager Ruth Kendall, while Diane Whitelock will continue to be manager at Ulverston.

Premier Care supports individuals with a wide range of complex needs with services such as domiciliary care, re-enablement and specialist care for adults with mental health and learning disability needs across the North West.
