United nets partnership with Swiss bank

MANCHESTER United has signed a “multi-year” sponsorship deal with  Swissquote, an online financial and trading services provider.

Financial terms of deal – United’s first in the  foreign exchange trading sector –  were not disclosed. Swissquote is Switzerland’s principal online bank and employs more than 500 people across seven offices in Switzerland, UK, Dubai, Hong Kong and Malta and its headquarters in Gland.  Its  trading room is connected to over 60 stock markets in over 40 countries.

Manchester United’s managing director Richard Arnold said: “Swissquote are one of the top 10 largest Forex brokers in the world and are by far the strongest and most  reliable competitor in the market.

“The technology and services they offer are superior to anything else available, offering customers the ability to take their finances into their own hands.  Much like Manchester United, Swissquote strives for perfection, looking to innovate, influence and enhance the industry it works within by recreating the future of banking.”

Swissquote chief executive and co-founder Marc Burki added: “As co-founder of this company just 25 years ago, this is a very important milestone to add to our young history and it makes me realize how far Swissquote Bank has come.

“Swissquote Bank immediately identified Manchester United as the perfect match for a partnership. We are building the foundations of a long lasting relationship and it starts today. Old Trafford is the home of football and from today I consider it also a home for Swissquote Bank.”
