Three join Meridian board as revenues rise

INDEPENDENT North West recruitment company Meridian Business Support is toasting a record year, and has promoted three key staff to its board.

The Altrincham-based group, which operates in the construction, commercial, education, health and industrial sectors, increased turnover in 2014 from £104m to £120m.

As part of its plan to grow the business to £200m in revenues by 2020, it has promoted Tina Cork, operations director of its health business; Richard Ewing, who leads its construction team and Andrew Pettingill, managing director of its office and professional and industrial business unit, to its board of directors.

Chief executive Mark Mitchell said: “We are excited about the appointments to the board of these outstanding team members. The increase of the board from four members to seven is a crucial step toward delivering on the objectives outlined in our Vision 20|20 strategy.

“Tina, Richard and Andrew were instrumental in the successes of the business in 2014, as part of the Meridian senior leadership team, and their new roles will give them greater scope to continue to drive the business forward.”

Meridian is one of the largest privately owned recruitment specialists in the UK, with 60 branch operations nationwide  and 325 staff. The firm recently celebrated its 25th anniversary and has been awarded accreditation by Best Companies to Work For guide.
