The Rainmaker Awards 2015 launched

THE region’s only community-led corporate finance awards programme,The Rainmaker Awards, will be held on June 18.

Brought to you by TheBusinessDesk and Out There Events, and in association with pro.manchester, The Rainmaker Awards recognise the skill, enterprise, achievement, innovation and excellence of the North West’s corporate finance community.

Unlike other awards programmes, the shortlisted teams and transactions in the year to March 31, will be picked by the corporate finance community, who will then vote online, in a one firm, one vote basis, to pick the winners.

Richard Hughes from Zeus Capital was voted Rainmaker of the Year in 2014 and said: “Winning the inaugural Rainmaker Award last year was special. Being honoured by my peers, the people who I respect the most and who understand exactly what is involved at the coalface made it especially poignant for me and the entire team.

“Last year was such a great year for us and the region as a whole that it’s been great to see the successes over the past year that have taken this forward. Rainmakers this year should be very interesting.”

“2014-2015 has been another active period for the region’s corporate financiers and private equity investors, and it will be interesting to see which deals are selected for the shortlist and are ultimately chosen as winners.

“Reflecting the strength and depth of the regional market, we have added two new categories to the awards. These are mid-market M&A deal worth up to £10m and also Funder of the Year.”
