Addleshaws promotes five to partner

FIVE Manchester-based lawyers at Addleshaw Goddard’s will be promoted to partner from May 1, the firsm has announced.

They are:  Andy Green in corporate; Phil McGough and Rachel Uttley in commercial; Mike Potter, head of the firm’s transaction services team and Colette Withey and Catherine Fearnhead in real estate.

Malcolm Pike, head of the firm’s Manchester office said: “The Manchester office has been well represented in the firm’s partner promotions this year which reflects the outstanding talent we have locally. “

The new partners have been involved in a number of the region’s top transactions including; the Co-operative Group’s £620m sale of its retail pharmacy business, Peel’s MediaCityUK joint venture with Legal & General Capital, the sale of REN skincare to Unilever and the biggest logistics deal in the region – The Hut’s deal for a new warehouse at Omega, Warrington.

The move is part of 18 partner promotions across the firm.

Monica Burch, senior partner, said: “Refreshing and strengthening our partnership through internal promotions and lateral hires in key core business growth areas, as well as areas of opportunity for us, is a key element of our plan to develop the firm and deliver better for clients.

“Each promotion case was approved on its own merits both in terms of the calibre of the individuals and the strength of the business case.”
