First look at the funky Bunker

THE first phase of the Bunker – the development of the former Littlewoods complex in Liverpool – has been previewed by a group of key regional office agents.

Capital & Centric’s speculatively launched building was unveiled amid a display of free-runners exploring the nooks and crannies of the uniquely designed space.

The company agreed to purchase the buildings from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) in 2012. The phase is estimated to create more than  100 jobs.

Capital & Centric says two tenants are already under offer for the building and there is strong interest in the remaining space.

Demand is coming from Liverpool Innovation Park and tenants within the Liverpool out of town market.

Co-founder of Capital & Centric, Tim Heatley, said: “The level of excitement created by this project is ace.

“We have a creative approach to development and it’s fantastic to see what seemed a slightly ‘off the wall’ design come to life.

“There’s been a huge amount of interest shown not just from office agents and occupiers but also the architectural and property development community keen to see how we’ve transformed a concrete box without windows into a light, airy, funky and energy efficient space.

“We’re thrilled by people’s reaction to our design approach.”

In addition to entertainment provided by Ryan Doyle, the founding athlete of the World Free-running and Parkour Federation, the launch also nodded to the history of its former occupier, Littlewoods with a “Spot the Ball” competition featuring Luis Suàrez and Mikel Arteta.

The building also benefited from support from the European Regional Development Fund.
