AN expanding building products supplier has branched out with an acquisition in the North East.

Amicus Building Products, which is based in Whitefield near Bury, has snapped-up family-owned company Nu*Stock headquartered in Stockton-On-Tees and with six depots including Barnsley, Hull and Paisley.

Amicus’s Managing Director Nick Friend said: “Nu*stock is a well-run, profitable and growing business that Ray and his family are rightly proud of. We look forward to building on their success and maintaining their legacy for the future.”

Brian Higgins, added: “Nu*Stock underlines our commitment to growth in our core roofline plastics market and provides us with greater presence in the North East and access to the Scottish market for our roofline plastics, internal cladding and Insulated glass ranges.”

Higgins said the enlarged business was on track for annual turnover of more than £16m in the year to the end of May.

Funding for the acquisition was provided by Shawbrook Business Credit. Corporate finance advice was provided to Amicus by Rickitt Mitchell with legal advice from Jon Close of TLT Solicitors and due diligence support from Dean Curtis of BTG.
