A CHESHIRE office and retail development has been sold for £305,000 on behalf to a private investor to MMI (Properties) Wilmslow.

The building at 4 and 4A Hawthorn Lane, Wilmslow, has been sold by Regional Property Solutions.

The premises were sold with vacant possession and provide a ground floor retail outlet of 695sq ft and an office suite of 616sq ft on the first floor.

Williams Commercial acted for the purchaser.

MANCHESTER-based Formroom Architects has been rebranded as Tim Groom Architects.

The company says the name change signifies an exciting new phase for the business as it embarks upon a series of major commissions and adds to its growing team.

Tim Groom said:  “When I set up Formroom Architects in 2006, we were a team of just two delivering mid-sized projects across the North West.

“Initially, like many start-up businesses our first ‘room’ was a spare room – the dining room of my house.

“Eventuarlly, we moved to Manchester and we are now settled at our base in the Knott Mill area of Castlefield.”

BILFINGER GVA in Manchester has secured outline planning permission for the development of Menai Science Park in Anglesey, North Wales.

The scheme will deliver 700 jobs to the local economy.

The Isle of Anglesey County Council planning committee unanimously approvede the plan, with a focus on renewable energies and environmental technologies, submitted by GVA;s planning, regeneration and development team for the site comprising 22,703sq ft split across eight buildings.

PRESTON-headquartered Conlon Construction has landed the Tourism and Leisure Project of the Year accolade at the RICS (Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors) Pro-Yorkshire Awards.

It won for its £6m Blackburn Wing scheme at the Grade II-listed Bowcliffe Hall in Wetherby.

This follows the scheme’s success in winning a RIBA (Royal Institute of Biritish Architects) 2015 Yorkshire Award in April, following the completion of the project by the Conlon team in October.
