Wythenshawe centre in healthy state

HEALTH retailer Holland & Barrett is set to open an outlet in the centre of Wythenshawe, near Manchester.

The company has taken a 10-year lease with St Modwen, manager and developer of Wythenshawe town centre, and will occupy 1,850 sq ft in the main Birtles shopping parade.

Holland & Barrett will add to the retail offer which already includes national retailers JD Sports, Boots, Costa Coffee, Argos and Asda.

Warringtonp-based regeneration specialist St Modwen has also agreed leases with Met Stop, Glamorous Look and Cirro.

In addition, more than 2,800sq ft of office space has been let at the centre following a recent refurbishment of nine suites. New tenants include Speedloan Finance, shipping firm Whytecliffs of Dover and training and recruitment company Standguide, which are taking advantage of the excellent location and great transport links that the premises offer.

Steven Knowles, North West regional director at St Modwen, said: “It is encouraging to see that Wythenshawe town centre is continuing to attract a mix of local and national, big name brands, which is testament to the success of the shopping centre.

“Coupled with this, local businesses are also choosing to move to the town centre office space due to the quality of premises and our flexible and accommodating approach to lettings.

“These latest leases demonstrate our commitment to ensuring the local community has a vibrant and varied town centre.”
