Charity travel firm booming

CHARITY sector travel company Diversity Travel based in Manchester is undergoing rapid expansion.

The company has just opened an office in Melbourne to add to its North West headquarters and has expanded its presence in London with a bigger office.

Revenue has climbed from £24.7m to £34.4m since 2013 and the staff count across the whole organisation has soared by 42%. Some 100 people now work at the company’s Portland Street, Manchester office.

Diversity claims 2,000 clients in the academic and not-for-profit sector.

One recent example of this is one of the company’s most recent hires Ben Slaymaker who, as well as being an IT specialist at Diversity Travel, is also a board member of a full time medical clinic he established in Haiti in 2013.

He has recently returned from a visit to relocate the clinic run by a Haitian doctor and a team of young local adults to help administer free medical care to the surrounding community still trying to recover from the devastating earthquake that hit in 2010.

Slaymaker is one of the team who has been hired recently by Diversity Travel’s managing director Chris Airey.

Airey said: “Our business has grown to where it is today thanks to the hard work and commitment of our exceptional team.

“We employ nearly 100 people in Manchester and we are looking to strengthen this even further with opportunities within our reservations, rail, ticketing, marketing and sales teams. There are also opportunities within our reservations team in London.

“Talent is something we’re always on the lookout for at Diversity Travel and we’re keen to hear from ambitious people who want to grow with our award-winning team.”
