Charity challenge: Business Heavyweights Liverpool urged to dig deep

THERE’S less than two weeks to go until 10 intrepid professionals and executives business souls enter the ring at The Midland Hotel for the second Business Heavyweights event.

Just three tables remain for the charity bash, which is aiming to be THE corporate event  of this summer.  Tickets can be booked at info@businessheavyweights.co.uk

Business Heavyweights is aiming to raise £100,000 for two good causes, the Factory Youth Zone in Harphurhey and Gorton Mount Primary Academy.

THE Liverpool business community is being asked to dig deep into their wardrobes to help support a small local charity.

To mark the start of Refugee Week,  Asylum Link Merseyside is collecting unwanted clothes and shoes at sites across the city on Friday.

Among the organisations that have already donated are: Liverpool Chamber of Commerce and Professional Liverpool, along with firms including Grant Thornton, Quilter Cheviot, Investec, Redx Pharma, DLA Piper, MSB Solicitors, Hilton Liverpool, DSG and Green Properties.

Refugee Week is held once a year to highlight the plight of people displaced by war, terrorism and threats against civil liberties.  In 2014 Asylum Link Merseyside helped 1,400 asylum seekers from war-torn countries such as Syria.

The charity is collecting bags of clothes or shoes at : Reception, India Buildings, Water Street; Influential Agency, The Plaza, 100 Old Hall Street and at Asylum Link Merseyside, 7 Overbury Street, Liverpool.
