GHA merges with engineering and architect specialist

NORTH West consultancy GHA Livigunn has merged with engineering and architecture firm GHD.

GHA’s offices in Leeds, Cheadle, Frodsham, Sutton Weaver and St Albans, with 160 people, will add to GHD’s offices in York and London.

Christian Hunt and Alex Birch of York-based Langleys Solicitors advised GHD on the deal.

Mark Ingram, managing director, GHA Livigunn, said: “We have always strived to provide wider opportunities for our team and enhanced offerings to our clients through growth into new markets, services, and geographies.

“This merger provides our clients access to the global expertise of engineers, architects and environmental scientists while making sure they still enjoy local service and personal attention.”

It is not the first merger for GHD, who joined with CRA in 2014, which saw the addition of CRA Europe teams in Liverpool and Nottingham.

John Dutton, GHD’s UK director, said: “This merger provides the critical mass to realise our strategic vision to expand our UK capabilities and geographical spread.W

Caroline Litchfield, a corporate partner at the Manchester office of Brabners, advised the shareholders of GHA Livigunn.
